Lecture “from beginning to end”: Piano Piano at the COAMU

On March 26th we were at the COAMU, College of Architects of the Region of Murcia, presenting our work and our approach to architecture within El proceso, a lecture series aimed at bringing closer different contemporary architectural practices and generating a space for reflection on current ways of designing and building.

The title of our lecture, “from beginning to end”, comes in a very natural way from how we understand architecture, and connects directly with the theme of the series, focused on processes, where we feel especially identified.

“From beginning to end” is an invitation to understand architecture as a continuous process, where every decision —from the first intuition to the last built detail— is part of the same narrative. For us, architecture does not come from a single gesture, but from the sum of many decisions that are adjusted and accompanied throughout the whole process, from the beginning to its materialization.

In a fast-paced world, crossed by bureaucracy, hyper-specialization or the demand to know everything, we choose to stay with that part of architecture that still challenges us, encourages us and pushes us to continue.

Ours was the first participation in the series, which will continue in the coming months with the Catalan studios Slow Studio on May 7th and H3O on June 4th.
